Classroom Awards
At Hammond, “Where People Are Important,” it is important to recognize
achievement in students. Once per month, each teacher at Hammond
recognizes a student for the Teacher’s Choice Award. In addition, each
department chooses a Student of the Month based
on recommendations from department members. The first awards will be
presented at the end of September.
Teacher’s Choice Awards
Students receiving this award in my class fall under one of two
categories: 1) demonstrate consistently high educational (both
grades and participation) achievement that sets them apart from their peers,
or 2) demonstrate consistent improvement during the month in their educational
performance. With over 120 students, choosing this person each month is
usually extremely difficult.
