From Mr. Burke's retirement announcement: "After 35 years as an educator in the Howard County Public School System, I have decided to retire. My retirement is effective July 1, 2010, with my last duty day being June 30, 2010. I do not know who will become the Principal of Hammond High School, but I am confident the selection by the Superintendent and his advisors will be made carefully and thoughtfully."
