Hammond Happenings
  The Hammond High School Renovation Project!  
   

Hammond High School’s summer renovation project is now underway
. Students will return to a newly painted building and freshly painted classrooms. Right away, students will notice an entirely new media center, complete with a
new layout, new furniture and new shelving. A newly renovated, painted gymnasium awaits them, complete with new bleachers. In addition, the band wing will be fit with new lockers to match the lockers installed last summer. Renovations will also be made to the auditorium.

Summer Opportunities For Students Needing Service Hours
! Summertime provides an excellent opportunity for students who need service hour credits. If you
need service hours and would like to get them by working at Hammond High School, please contact Mr. Kevin B. Watkins at 410-313-76
15. In addition, any student that does not need volunteer hours but would like to volunteer his or her time to Hammond High is most welcome.

Hammond High School will be looking for responsible volunteer students who
can be trained to do the following: Front Office Customer Service: Involves interaction with the public including Building Services personnel who will be involved in the
renovation project this summer. Involves interaction with the public by answering phones. Also includes filing and caring for postal mail.
Hours and Dates: Volunteers are needed beginning July 23 through August 21. Students may choose which day(s) they would like to work at Hammond. Summer hours are 8:00am to 3:00pm M-F. Students may choose the hours they would like to work (i.e.: 8-12, 12-3, 9-1 etc.). If you have any questions, please feel free to contact Mr. Watkins at 410-313-7615.

The Maryland Department of Health and Mental Hygiene and the Howard County Health Department
have issued guidance for school health services providers as
to how they are to respond to possible H1N1/swine influenza virus infection in the school setting. Click here for details.
