Ninth Grade Team
The Ninth-Grade Team focuses on the
needs of the 9th grade learner to ensure
a successful student transition from
middle school. The BEARS (Behavior,
Excellence, Attendance, Respect, and
Safety) recognizes 9th grade students
who demonstrate positive behaviors.
 Ms. Schleupner
Ms. Schleupner grew up in Baltimore, Maryland and graduated from Lansdowne High School. She has earned two Bachelors’ degrees in Secondary English Education and Photography from Salisbury University. She is currently working on her Master’s degree in Educational Technology at Loyola University of Maryland. Ms. Schleupner has been teaching for four years, all of them at Hammond and all of them in English 9. This is her first year as Co-Ninth Grade Team Leader.
Ms. Schleupner has two cats, Holden and Bartleby, that she considers her children and loves to spoil. She enjoys rocking out to music, hanging out with friends, and reading, especially young adult literature. She is also an intense Baltimore Ravens fan and spends most of her Sundays down at M&T Bank Stadium.
Mrs. Shawn Nguyen, Co-Ninth Grade Team Leader
Mrs. Nguyen grew up in SC and graduated from Summerville High School in Summerville, SC. She earned her Bachelor’s degree in Education and her Master’s degree in Curriculum and Instruction from George Mason University in Fairfax, VA. The 2012-2013 school year will be Mrs. Nguyen’s 22 nd year of teaching. She taught for 16 years in Fairfax County, VA, and will teach ESOL for the sixth year at HaHS. This will be her first year as Co-Ninth Grade Team Leader.
Mrs. Nguyen has been married for five years to Tony, a software engineer who works in Washington, DC. She adores her three beautiful cats adopted from local animal shelters and loves reading. She and Mr. Nguyen enjoy swing and salsa dancing in their free time. |
