Welcome to Hammond High School! You are visiting a vibrant community "Where People are Important." Located in Columbia, Maryland, Hammond was founded in 1976. At Hammond, the student body and staff work together to ensure a curriculum of rigor, relevance and positive relationships. Students have access to many different rigorous learning opportunities from inclusion to Gifted and Talented and A.P. programs. The curriculum is relevant here at Hammond and 21st Century student learning is a focal point. For example you will find many courses implementing S.T.E.M. (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) giving students the tools they need to succeed in today's world. One of Hammond's greatest assets is its people. A diverse group of students and adults walk these halls everyday fostering positive relationships to ensure success in all of our students. A wide array of extra curricular activities seek to achieve these relationships whether in athletics, academics or social settings.
Hammond's unique character is recognized through a montage of highly dedicated administrators, teachers and staff members, along with a diverse community of students. The maroon and gold is tightly knit, and brings together students, parents, faculty and businesses in an educational environment while demonstrating cooperative living in a multi-cultural world.
