Band Program         Choir Program 

     The Music Department at Hammond HS is led by Mr. Bryan Eber,  
 Team Leader and Band Director; Mr. Brett Rankin, Chorus Director; and Mr.
 Allen Leung, Orchestra Director. Music classes offered to students include:
 Band, Chorus, Orchestra, Music Theory, and Guitar.

 Music ensembles at Hammond HS
perform concerts throughout the year,  for community events, and at national adjudication festivals. Hammond  music groups always receive Excellent and Superior ratings at festivals
 and competitions, and the performing ensembles include: Symphonic Band,  Concert Band, Marching Band, Jazz Ensemble, Orchestra, Concert Choir,
 
 
 Madrigals, Guitar Ensemble, and Barbershop Quartets.
 
2007- 08 Music Department Highlights
   

The Music Department Banquet was held on May 12.
Congratulations to all of our music students and to the booster parents
who did such a wonderful job in providing programs and decorating the cafeteria for the banquet!

Congratulations to the Music Department for a successful
trip to Chicago!


The Symphonic Band won the Fiesta- Val Champion Trophy
in its class and received a Superior Rating and 1st Place.


Kate Bateman
and Marina Metzler won Outstanding Soloist Awards.

The Concert Band received an Excellent Rating and 1st Place.
The Orchestra received an Excellent Rating and 1st Place
.
The Jazz Ensemble received a Superior Rating and 1st Place, and Daniel Baker
and Juliette Bell won Outstanding Soloist Awards.

The Concert Choir received a Superior Rating and 1st Place.
The Madrigals received a Superior Rating and 1st Place
.

The Symphonic Band and Jazz Ensemble won the "Fiesta-Val Grand Champion Trophy" for having the highest combined band scores, and Mr. Eber received the "Fiesta-Val Award of Distinction" in recognition of a notable contribution to
musical excellence.

The Concert Choir and Madrigals won the "Fiesta-Val Grand Champion Trophy"
for having the highest combined chorus scores, and Mr. Rankin received the
"Fiesta-Val Award of Distinction"
in recognition of a notable contribution to
musical excellence.

Congratulations to Hammond Music students who participated in the Howard County Solo and Ensemble Festivals!
The following students received a "Superior" rating from adjudicators at the
Band and Strings Howard County Solo and Ensemble Festival and may go on to
perform at the State Solo and Ensemble Festival in May:

Please support your child in the music program by attending booster meetings, assisting with fundraisers, and attending concerts and performances. Parents
are also encouraged to support their children with home practice and private
lessons. Your active participation in your child's music education will

! We are always looking for parents to help with
activities that are held throughout the year.  

 Membership Form

Music Boosters meetings are held on the third Tuesday
of every month from
7pm-8pm in room 103. Next meeting: Tuesday, August 12, 2008.

Connors, Michele Haile, and Julia Rocha, who were awarded $250 Music Boosters Scholarships at the Music Department Awards Banquet on May 12, 2008.
