Senior/Junior College Events 09-10
College Reps Visit Hammond High
New! A College Fair is being held at Centennial High School on Tuesday, April
13th from 6:30-8:30. This is a great way to learn what different schools can offer
and what it takes to be accepted.
New! Sophomore Information Night: There will be a presentation for 10th Graders and their Parents sponsored by Hammond’s Counseling Department on Tuesday, March 16th at 7 pm in the Cafeteria. Topics will include:
•The College Prep Timeline
•What Colleges Look For
•Understanding College Testing
•Financial Aid and Scholarships
•Resources Available to Students
Hammond’s Counseling Department will be available to answer individual
questions. Sophomore Information Night 2010 Powerpoint
New! Senior/Junior College Events in 2009-10 include NCAA Night on
November 18 and Financial Aid Night on December 2. For a complete list of
these important events click on the link above.
Colleges and Universities send representatives to meet with our juniors and
seniors here at Hammond. Parents are invited to attend these presentations.
Please check E-school news and the board outside of Guidance for updates
on visits scheduled.
Students must follow the following procedures if they wish to come to the
Counseling Department to hear about their choices for college:
1. Sign up at least 24 hours before the day of the visit
2. Passes will be delivered to the first period class the day of the college visit.
3. Do not leave class until your teacher signs the pass, giving you permission to
leave.
4. Students must make up all work that is missed.
