Mathematics Department Overview
The Secondary Mathematics program is
built upon the National Council of Teachers of Mathematics Principles and Standards
for School Mathematics and the Maryland Mathematics Voluntary State Curriculum
and Core Learning Goals.

It incorporates problem solving, communications, connections, and
reasoning to deliver traditional and nontraditional mathematics skills in kindergarten through twelfth grade. It also forms a framework enabling students to successfully apply mathematics in real life situations and testing (such as the Mary-
land School Assessments and the Algebra/ Data Analysis High School Assessment).
